  Getting Involved

There are many ways to get involved in the First Church community:

  • Sunday mornings: Take part in the worship service by ushering, lighting the chalice, providing flowers, or doing a reading. After the service, volunteers to host the social hour are always appreciated.

  • Social justice: Help out at the Dedham Food Pantry, cook meals for the Dignity Dinners at Arlington St. Church, or participate in the monthly letter writing campaign for Amnesty International.

  • Choir: Be a part of the musical side of First Church. There is always room for new voices. Anyone may come to rehearsal starting at 8:45am Sunday morning.

  • Teach: Take on one of the most important roles in the church: fostering the spiritual growth of our children.

  • Parish Players: Join our active theater group. Whether helping out on or off stage, there is lots of fun for everyone.

  • Committees: Participate in the workings of the church by joining one of the committees including: Buildings and Grounds, Music and Worship, Membership, and Religious Education.

  • Women's Alliance: The Alliance brings together the women of the church to work on social events, outreach projects, and fund raising events, most notably, the annual Holly Fair.

  • Meditation Group: This group gathers weekly to share together this time-honored spiritual practice.
