Things I didn't learn in seminary 3

April 2, 2018

I have been taking sabbatical for a bit over a month now to care for my grand nieces. I realize that one thing I really didn't learn in seminary is how all consuming the ministry is, how months and years can go by without contact with family and that is likely why so many ministerial  marriages fall apart. Fortunately mine is strong (at least I hope) and my wife understands the vital importance of protecting my nieces from any further violence against them. Thankfully too you, my congregation have been supportive, so perhaps that is the real lesson I wish I had learned in Seminary, how to ask for what you need.
