First Church Friday Folk Coffeehouse presents its sixth concert of the 2025-26 season featuring Blue Train. Because of a predicted snowstorm on 2/20, the concert has been postponed to Friday, February 27, 2026. There will be refreshments for purchase.  Tickets are $15 and doors open at 7:00 pm.

About the event

Blue Train coasts along the folk music railway tracks powered by a solid bluegrass engine fueled by an eclectic mix of swing, Texas swing and Gypsy jazz with intricate vocal harmonies and instrumentation.  Musicians include Jon Pachter on banjo, harmonica and vocals, Wendy Pachter on stand-up bass and vocals, George O’Connell on mandolin and vocals, Stewart Roberts on guitar and vocals and Alison Smith on violin/fiddle and vocals.


Blue Train recently appeared at the Dedham Coffee House, Brookline Porchfest and the Wright Farm.  Other venues include Parrish Center for the Arts in Westford, MA, Vokes Theatre in Wayland, the Newton Linda Plaut Festival of the Arts, Good Pickin’ Farm in Westford, Nick-a-Nees Club in Providence, and various farmer’s markets. Get on board with this Boston-based band and speed down the tracks of pure entertainment as you ride the Blue Train!
