Join the Membership Committee! 

The Membership Committee helps encourage our church growth and help members stay connected. If you are interested in helping this effort click here to contact the Membership Committee Chair.

The Parish Committee

The Parish Committee meets once per  month. It is composed of six Parish Committee members, and the three Deacons, Clerk and Treasurer, who serve ex officio. Two Parish Committee members are recruited by the nominating Committee each year. If you would like to know more about how the Parish Committee works you can download our bylaws, or contact our current Parish Committee Chairs: Natalie Jensen and Julia Gecha

Join the Music and Worship Committee!

Music and Worhship meets montly during the weekday and helps to organize and plan our worship for the church year. If you are interested in helping contact our Music and Worship Chair. If you are interested in joining the choir please contact our Music Director Darry Dolezal

Ushers and Greeters Needed

Each week we count on our members to help to greet new visitors.  Ushers help the service run smoothly. We ask all of our families sign up for at least one Sunday per year. You can sign up for ushering online by clicking here, or on the bulletin board outside the Parish Hall Dining Room. If you have any trouble with this contact the church office here.

Buildings and Grounds Committee Needs YOU!!

B and G meets once per month and is currently comprised of Sam King, Jeff Hutton, Andrea Gilmore, and Rali Weaver. If you are interested in helping to care for our buildings and grounds please feel free to contact any of these people.

Children's Religious Education:

Our Children's Religious Education is a cooperative program. It runs on volunteers, We strive to offer our children a well rounded and challenging and fun program. If you are interested in helping with these efforts please email our Director of Religious Education.

Social Hour Needs Your Help!!

Judy Barrington has single-handedly managed our Social Hour after worship for many years. In that time Social Hour has grown exponentially. We need more people to work with Judy to make this job more manageable. This will not require any meetings, only some communication and recruitment of volunteers. Our new kitchen could also use a few caring people to help keep it nice. If you are willing and able to help please contact Judy Barrington.  You can also sign up to host social hour by clicking here. 

Adult Religious Eduation:

Throughout the church year we study together and learn together. If you are interested in learning more about classes or would like to offer an Adult Religious Education class, contact the Church Office.

 

Events and Fundraising:

Throughout the year we have several events and fundraising activities from picnics to fairs. The best way to get involved is to email the church office and get on our weekly email list.

Anti Racism Anti Oppression and Welcoming Congregation Efforts Takes ALL OF US!

As a spiritual community we are in a constant effort to be more inclusive and more affirming. If you would like to get involved contact our minister.

The Greening Committee:

We are committed to becoming a more sustainable institution. If you are interested in participating contact our Greening Committee Chair

The First Church Women's Alliance:

The Alliance brings together the women of the church to work on social events, outreach projects, and fund raising events, most notably, the annual Holly Fair. If you are interested in getting involved please email their chair.

Civic Engagement at First Church:

Love is the spirit of our church and service is our only law. Many of our parishioners are actively involved in countless activities to improve the common good of our parish.   From the Dedham Food Pantry and Fruitful Offerings to the Stop the Pipeline Movement we all strive to make this world a better place. If you are interested in getting involved check out the Civic Engagement bulletin board in our Parish Hall or contact the minister to see how to get involved. 

The Parish Players

The Parish Players have been putting on intergenerational shows for more than 20 years. Click here to find out more. 

Parish Community Network Needs Your Help:

Ours is a caring community. We witness to each other's lives, we help and share and care. An extra caring hand is always needed. The Parish Community Network always keeps us on track with helping.
